Physical Preparation

Let's Relax Some of the Muscles Involved in Singing

  • Jaw Self-Massage
  • Neck Self-Massage
  • The Lion
  • Arm Swinging
  • Shoulder Stretches
  • Washing Machine Swings

The body is the seat of the voice and we are athletes. As such our muscles have to be strong and flexible at the same time. Free of any tension.

Body Alignment

With eyes closed, focus inwardly and align your body.

  • Sink Into the Ground
  • Soften Knees
  • Engage Pelvic Floor
  • Stand Tall
  • Open the Inter Costal Ribs
  • Soften Shoulders
  • Relax Jaw
  • Bright Eyes
  • Smile

Breathing Preparations

Knowing now that we are using the Inter Costal Breathing with Back Breathing let’s look at some exercises that promote an awakening of the Diaphragm.
